I’ve spent an exorbitant amount of time thinking about what my personal definition of Beauty is. I can tell you quickly what it is not.
It does not involve a collection of things. It’s not a perfect body or the most chic style of clothing. It’s not having 1 trillion friends on Facebook.
According to the Free Dictionary this is how Beauty is defined:
1. thecombination of allthequalities of a person or thingthatdelightthesensesandpleasethemind. 2. a veryattractiveandwell-formedgirl orwoman. 3. informal an outstandingexample of itskind:thehorse is abeauty. 4. informal an advantageousfeature:onebeauty of thejob is the shorthours.
When I brought simplicity into my life, I truly realized what Beauty is. It’s the empty space where clutter used to live. The organized closet and the careful acquisition of purchasing things that I love and use. Spending time with the people you love, cooking natural foods ethically sourced and shared at home. Paring down my skincare and makeup routines and incorporating brands that are natural and organic. Spending quality time with my loved ones. Playing like a child with my grandchildren. Discovering a new travel destination. Being happy with the body I live in. Capturing the perfect photograph. Holding my loving chihuahuas. Writing about things that excite me.
I’ve found many ways that Beauty manifests itself to me.
